Make New Year’s Resolutions Work

Good morning everyone!

I’m so excited to be here with you today to talk about making our New Year’s resolutions work. As we all know, the start of a new year is a great opportunity to set goals and make positive changes in our lives. But, as we also know, it can be difficult to stay motivated and actually follow through on our resolutions.

I want to share a personal story with you that I think will help illustrate the importance of following through on our resolutions. A few years ago, I had a New Year’s resolution to start running. I was determined to make it a part of my daily routine. I was so motivated that I even bought new running shoes and a few new workout outfits. I was ready to go!

But, like so many of us, I found that it was hard to stay consistent. I would go for a run one day, and then not go for a few days. I felt like I was stuck in a cycle of starting and stopping. I was getting frustrated and was about to give up.

That’s when I decided to try a new strategy. I started telling my friends and family about my resolution. I asked them to hold me accountable for sticking to it. I also started tracking my progress and setting small, achievable goals for myself.

That’s when I realized that my resolution wasn’t just about running. It was about making positive changes in my life. It was about taking action and staying committed to my goals.

So, I want to leave you with this quote from the famous author, Jim Rohn: “Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.”

Let’s make this year the year of taking action and actually following through on our resolutions. Let’s make this year a year of positive change and growth.

Thank you.
